Dear
Educator,
Welcome to our classroom, naturally! We have 500 acres of oak, maple, and
pine forests; a 9-acre lake; meadows, and fields all located on the scenic
Tippecanoe River about 20 miles north of Lafayette, Indiana.
You will enjoy the warmth of our carpeted log cabins, complete with built-in
bunks and tiled washrooms with showers. Each log cabin is heated, handicap
accessible, and in close proximity to the learning and dining areas. Total
capacity is over 500.
While your students are at camp, you can relax in the McAllister Fellowship
Room complete with hanging canoes, moose and elk heads, a stone fireplace
and artifacts and pictures of the early days of camp. Plan to spend some browsing
time here! Or have a quiet moment in a wooden rocking chair fireside in the
fellowship room of our brand new Scheumann Lodge.
The quality and quantity of our food is crucial for you to enjoy your stay
with us, so meals at Tecumseh are a priority. When using our food service,
you don't spend valuable time organizing meals. In addition, family style
service means everyone is served quickly and efficiently so that meal times
are spent enjoying good food and downtime with your students and fellow teachers.
Outdoor Education began at Camp Tecumseh in 1974 with three schools and approximately
150 students. We currently serve approximately 14,000 students from about
150 schools in Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky.

their lives and your school's curriculum!
